Hello Fellow Jerry Garcia Fans,
I’m contacting you and others who originally backed my 1st Kickstarter in 2023 in hopes that you'll again pledge your support of my 17 years of research.
As you may recall, I pulled my original Kickstarter campaign in 2023 as it became clear that I was not going to make my goal. While I was very disappointed, I immediately began researching the best way to move forward as this one-of-a-kind book needs to be on the bookshelf of every dedicated Deadhead.
The new Kickstarter campaign for the book will be launched as a very special, limited first edition, hand-signed and numbered by the author. What makes this special is the 900 hi res venue photos along with the many new dates and venues that I’ve discovered, including where The Warlocks performed in 1965.
It's the only book that combines all of Jerry's side band dates and the Grateful Dead's dates together by venue. Alphabetically by state, there are over 1300 venues that include rehearsal, recording, performance, living spaces and planned/canceled show venues.
The history of each venue is here including architects, builders, owners, opening night performances and other notable appearances, murals, statues, stage prosceniums, backstage areas, pipe organs, secret rooms, hidden tunnels, restorations and demolitions.
Jerry's history at each venue includes the bands he played with, setlists, opening acts and other information giving the reader an idea of what went down at every date on every tour. In many cases via dated photos, what guitar Jerry was playing, and other anecdotal stuff that we love to read.
I've added eyewitness reports to as many specific dates as possible. These are numerous, hysterical and heartwarming.
There are thousands of footnotes for verifying all the information.
I have lowered my book print expectations from 1000 to 300 copies which has reduced the dollar amount I need to go to print.
Don't miss out on this golden opportunity to own a truly exceptional book in which Jerry's vast musical history is woven into the places he performed. This gold embossed 9x11 hardcover encompasses approximately 2000 pages in a two volume set. The print quality of this book and the over 900 hi res venue photos will surely be a page turner down memory lane.
If you'd be so kind, could you pass this message along to all your Deadhead friends as even with the print copy reductions I’ll need an additional 60 Jerry Garcia fans to make a pledge in order to reach my new goal and be able to finally print this unique book with the most current information available.
Check out the venue posts I'm making every few hours on Facebook.
The Kickstarter campaign's launch date is November 1, 2024.
If you're interested in obtaining this book please reply to slipnut01@gmail.com and I’ll send you a reminder about the launch.
I'm excited, I know this one is going to be successful!
Thank you
Harry G. Angus
