At 3:45 AM on Sunday July 31, 1982, Patricia Schneider, after completing work as a cocktail waitress at the Palomino Station, an Indian Hills CA restaurant and nightclub, made a call from the Circle K market on Limonite in Pedley (between Riverside and Mira Loma) CA reporting her car had broken down. A clerk at the Circle K stated he saw two white males with sandy hair in the parking lot while Schneider made calls from the phone. Between 5 and 6 AM that same morning, a Riverside county sheriff found Schneider's car on fire near the intersection of Van Buren Blvd and Doolittle Ave. The area was searched and no traces of Patti were ever found.

Bangles played the Palomino July 27, 1984. It was the absolute worst sound I have ever heard come out of a PA system. I was 19 then and I told all of my friends and family, The Bangles will never go anywhere! I just might have been mistaken!

In 1979 when I was 19 I had a real Ca ID that had my age at 23 and I would hang out at the Station. I used to see INXS for a cover charge and when I went to Sundance on the river my bartenders from the Palomino would sometimes be tending bar . Tequila Drivers were a glass of tequila with a shot of OJ , man I got hammered ! Rich H

ReplyDeletei believe i have the correct palomino station, in the early 80's i fought twice here, as this place hosted amateur boxing, what i remember was i could remember this place had an upper level as i remember looking up and seeing people cheering, i remember someone cheering "get um colton, get um!", i was fighting out of colton boxing club.. . .i was fortunate enough to come out on top on two separate occasions...I believe i had a white t shirt that said "palomino station presents tuesday night boxing" in red lettering..., i wish i knew what happened with that shirt.... sincerely....ed.
