Tresidder Memorial Union, Stanford University, Palo Alto, CA

Tresidder Memorial Union is the primary meeting and resource center for Stanford and the surrounding community. Tresidder features a variety of services, ranging from event facilities to a student-run store. The facility is available until 2am each day and is open every day of the year, except University holidays.

There were periodic concerts at Tresidder Deck. The Butterfield Blues Band played there in January of 1966, and the Lovin' Spoonful performed there right before or right after the Grateful Dead.(4)

Jerry performed here on
10/14/66 Grateful Dead
"The Dead, which had its roots in Palo Alto, first played on campus in 1966 on the back deck of Tresidder."(1)
"The Grateful Dead played a show on the "roof" on top of Tressider Bowling alley."(2)

"Their show, held at the Tresidder Memorial Union, had an admission cost of $1.25. The location was identified on the ad as the TMU Deck, which I believe corresponds to the union’s back patio, where classical and jazz concerts are held today."(3)

  1. There were periodic concerts at Tresidder Deck. Butterfield Blues Band played there in January of 1966 (cryptdev found an ad), and I know someone who saw the Lovin Spoonful there right before or right after the Grateful Dead played there (Fall '66).
